Maximizing your investment in a new information system
requires a clear analysis of your critical business issues,
precise definition of your goals, a review of your business
needs in light of available software solutions, and
experienced guidance in the implementation process. According to the Gartner Group, a research firm
specializing in Information Technology issues, "75% of all ERP implementations do not meet the executive's original vision." By meeting with your company's senior executive(s) and getting his or her vision and expectation up front, we can more precisely define and design an appropriate system; the probability of a failure to meet expectations can be minimized. Since
1987, PSSI has specialized in performing those services in
partnership with our clients. Solving our clients'
information systems challenges is PSSI's business - our only
business.
To begin the process of helping you achieve your goals, we initially meet with you in a consulting mode to learn about your business and your management information needs. Before we can hope to meet your goals through objective attainment we need to know what your goals are, and we need to understand the critical business issues that currently hinder those achievements. Following the introductory meeting, we schedule time with you and your staff to perform a "Needs Analysis" during which we gather information and define your detailed systems and environment. We meet with your senior management, systems project leader and representatives of each of your company's functional areas to make sure we understand the needs of each group.
Following these interviews, we analyze your needs and determine which of the software systems with which we are familiar will best meet your needs. Some of the areas for consideration include the basic functionality match between your needs and the software's capabilities, the need to customize, integration needs between systems, the number of users and their proximity to the server (local or remote). We then document, summarize and review our findings with your senior management and project team. When we know that we have addressed all of your information concerns, we will present a preliminary investment proposal for the software and services that will meet your needs and help you attain your goals.
When you agree that the PSSI system recommendation is a good fit for your needs, and that PSSI is the right long-term systems business partner for you, we will suggest a thorough business process analysis. While this step is "optional," the companies in which we perform this process have the most satisfactory experiences with their system implementation. During the study, performed by our experienced business consultants, we get into the day to day detail of your functional business areas and help you define the methods and procedures thorough which your company will benefit most from improved systems. This due diligence process can encompass Accounting, Manufacturing, Customer Relationship Management, and Warehouse Management. Your only decision should be whether you want the complete corporate business model evaluated, or whether you initially want to address just limited functional areas.
Obviously, the knowledge we gain during the business process analysis provides enormous benefits to you; this is the time during which we jointly examine and document your business policies, data flow, information requirements, report mappings, etc. The process helps identify specific areas of improvement and assists you in finalizing and quantifying your goals. Due diligence gives PSSI insight into the details of your operations while the process gives your staff a good look at the capabilities and expertise of the PSSI staff. Following the presentation and review of the analysis document, and your acceptance of the final proposal, we will begin the implementation of the system with our primary goal being that the project will be finished On Time, On Budget.
